Real Mex Restaurants is the largest operator of full service Mexican restaurants in the nation, operating over 120 restaurants and eight brands including Chevys Fresh Mex, El Torito and Acapulco across the country.

To maintain a high quality, consistent experience in each restaurant, Real Mex needed to ensure flawless execution of its strategy and develop a fully embraced learning culture. Before Litmos, the company delivered training via the traditional face-to-face instruction and delivered stacks of training manuals to the 400 plus managers and training supervisors nationwide.
One of Real Mex's main challenges was how to train all of the managers on a major upgrade to one of its crucial business systems. This upgrade was expected to be costly and use considerable business resources.
According to Robert Rodriquez, Manager of Training and Development, Real Mex restaurants had excellent training material, however its method of delivery was inadequate and outdated. The entire process was manual, lacked visibility and tracking of learner progress. There was no way to gauge the success of the training program.
Real Mex also had plans to grow nationwide so the training department needed to find a way to easily scale up its training to be able to accommodate all of the new learners.
