Use Business Units to associate courses to specific business entities such as departments, teams, product lines or companies. A course is tied to one business unit so that when an attendee registers, their registration will be flagged as belonging to that business unit.
Example: OnPoint Communications has four departments that conduct training: Mobile Devices, Back-End Systems, Voice over IP, and Communications Management Systems. In-order to track courses and registration back to the correct departments, the system administrator, creates a business unit for each department and assigns them to the desired courses.
To create business units:
- Choose Administration Menu->Global Information.
- Click on the Business Units tab.
- Enter the name for the business unit.
- Enter the accounting code and full description of the Business Unit, as needed.
- Click Save.
NOTE: Repeat, as needed for each Business Unit.
