About AICC
Litmos is AICC 4.0 Compliant.
AICC is an industry standard that applies to the development, delivery, and evaluation of training courses. The Advance Distributed Learning (ADL) is a government-sponsored organization responsible for AICC standards.
AICC is used when you want a course on Litmos to run content served from another LMS or content server.
If you are uploading the content directly to Litmos, AICC should not be used – SCORM is the way to go.
How to Use AICC With Litmos
Once you have your course content available on your content server, you need to create a small Zip file for upload to a Litmos module. please refer to your content provider/LMS/server for steps to create the Zip file.
Your Zip file should contain 4 small files each around 1kb in size (it should not contain the course content):
-
AU File – contains data needed to launch the course. You may need to edit the content of this file (refer to your content server/LMS/provider for support).
-
CRS File – contains information about the course, such as a text description.
-
CST File – contains data about the course structure.
-
DES File – contains a list of modules.
Litmos uses ‘Completed/Incomplete’ to record course status.
Note: For Lynda.com files, the user will need to log into the file using their Lynda.com username and password upon accessing the content within Litmos.
