An easy to use LMS is crucial for effective online training and that is why people love Litmos.  However, ease of use should not be confused with a lack of awesome features.  I use Litmos on a daily basis and every day I have at least one “That is a really cool feature” moment, so I wanted to share some of those features.  I hope they make your life as easy as they do mine.

1. Bulk Import to update users – Many of our customers are aware of the bulk import feature but less people are aware of how powerful it is.  If you need to update information in a user’s profile or assign them to additional Teams or Courses, a bulk import job can be done to correct or update information.  This works by identifying the username and changing the information for that user, making bulk changes easier than ever.
2. Updating Modules – When a course or module is updated, the Administrator has the choice of informing learners who have already completed the module or not.  Turn the notification off if you need to fix a spelling error, grammar error or to make a small modification to a course.  Turn it on if you made a major change which requires learners to retake the course.
3. Custom Reports – Litmos has Quick Reports built in to easily access specific information.  But in order to get a bit more granular, we have the “Create a report” features, which allows users to choose the criteria of the report.  Then, there is one more level of deep dive reporting, the custom reports.  The custom reports take the criteria from the Create a report and add any field you need to give you the information you need and only the information you need.
4. Duplicate – If a module already exists and needs to be duplicated and slightly changed, the duplicate module is the way to go.  With the duplicate module, create a clean copy of an existing module and make changes without effecting the already existing module.
5. Link – Really, duplicate and link are very similar.  The link module is the same as duplicate except when you change any module that is linked to another module, the change will affect both modules.  In addition, if a learner is marked as complete for one module, they will be marked as complete for the other.
