Ratings and Reviews allow your Learners to rate your Assets, Courses or Learning Paths on a five-star scale and give a review. Other prospective Learners can then view these ratings and reviews before self-assignment through the Content Library or purchasing the Course or Learning Path.

Enabling/ Setting Up Ratings and Reviews

Before using this feature, Ratings and Reviews will need to be enabled by:

• Navigating to Accounts

• Select the LITMOS FEATURES tab.

• Select the “Ratings”

• Click the “Enable Ratings” checkbox and click “Save”

This will enable this feature for all Assets, Courses and Learning Paths in your account.

Using Ratings and Reviews as a Learner

Ratings are displayed in the Content Library to help provide prospective learners with valuable feedback from their peers when choosing a course. Each Asset, Course or Learning Path that has been rated will have the rating displayed along with a ratings count. If the Course or Learning Path has not yet been rated, no stars will appear for that specific Course or Learning Path.

Before the Learner Completes a Course

If a Learner has not yet completed the Content selected, they will be able to view all reviews by clicking on the rating count in the Content Library or navigating to the “Reviews” tab from within the Course, Learning Path or Asset. They will not be able to submit a Rating or Review of their own for this Course or Learning Path.

After the Learner Completes a Course

Once a Learner has completed a Course, they will be able to rate the course and submit a Review for other Learners to see. Ratings submitted are visible to all learners in the Organization.

Monitoring Ratings and Reviews

Administrators will be able to view and monitor ratings and reviews from the “Ratings” tab in that Course or Learning Path. From this tab they will be able to:

• See the average rating

• See the individual ratings and reviews

• Delete any rating and review

• Respond to learner ratings

A ratings summary modal is also available for Administrators and learners to show a quick snapshot of ratings within any Course/Asset/Learning Path tab.

Ratings Notifications

Course level ratings notifications can be received on courses where:

• Ratings are left by a learner on a course

• Ratings are updated on a course

These notifications are sent to the users set to receive Notifications within a course.

For learners, a notification is sent when the review/rating has been responded to by an Administrator.

Notification Templates

Notification Templates can be customized under Account Settings> Email.

The following templates are available:

• Rating Submitted- when ratings or a review are left by a learner on a course

• Rating Updated – when ratings or review are updated by a learner on a course

• Rating Response Submitted- for learners when an administrator has responded to their review/rating

Reporting

Course/ Learning Path Quick Reports and Reporting Engine objects will give high level information in regard to Ratings and Reviews including average rating, total number of ratings given, and total number of reviews given. For further details, see the “Ratings” tab in the Course or Learning Path.
