The most rewarding result we have seen thus far is the engagement that our sites have with the training process. What used to be a tedious, paper-driven feat, has now turned into a more streamlined process that is the same with every single employee. Project Managers at our site are highly satisfied with the ease of running reports and knowing exactly what training has been accomplished, without the work of reviewing a paper training record.
Why PCSI Chose Litmos to Automate & Centralize Training
Before implementing Litmos, PCSI faced a major challenge: inconsistent training and recordkeeping. “In 2022, we realized every site was doing something different,” Van Vliet recalled. “Some had digital files; others kept paper binders, and some just had everything in their head. It wasn’t sustainable, especially for audits.”
As an ISO-certified organization, PCSI needed a system that could provide clear proof of training, documentation, and competency. Most importantly, they need it all in one place. That’s when they turned to Litmos.
“Litmos allowed us to customize our training exactly how we wanted. It gave us the consistency we needed while staying user-friendly for everyone, from executives to site-level housekeepers,” Van Vliet explained.
The organization quickly embraced the platform’s interactive tools. “We link our SOPs right into Litmos checklists, so employees always have the most current version,” she said. “It’s completely changed how we manage training.”
Beyond the structure, Van Vliet and the PCSI team appreciate how intuitive Litmos is for both admins and learners. “The dashboard is clean, the reports are easy to run, and it’s simple for anyone to use. That was a huge selling point for us.”
When our ISO auditors come in, we can easily show proof of training, the materials, and competency results right from Litmos. They love how consistent it is.
Better Engagement, More Accessible Training, and Successful Audits for PCSI through Litmos
Since rolling out Litmos to their 2,000+ employees, PCSI has experienced a true cultural shift around training and engagement.
“What used to be a tedious, paper-driven process has become streamlined and consistent across every site,” said Van Vliet. “Project Managers love it; they can see instantly what training has been completed without flipping through stacks of paper.”
The transition from paper-based to digital training not only improved efficiency but also saved resources. “We didn’t go into it looking to save money,” she admitted, “but we’ve definitely reduced printing costs and freed up physical storage space. Everything is organized and accessible.”
Audit season, once a stressful scramble for proof and records, is now a breeze. “When our ISO auditors come in, we can easily show proof of training, the materials, and competency results right from Litmos. They love how consistent it is,” said Van Vliet.
Even with over 2,000+ learners across 30 sites, PCSI manages its entire LMS with just one administrator. According to Van Vilet, “Having one administrator has kept the voice, branding, and overall development of training material in a consistent place, which was missing from our original training program. One administrator looking at everything has allowed us to hold all our sites accountable to the same standard.”
Another powerful benefit has been the boost in employee engagement. In 2025, 517 courses were completed, up from only 138 in 2024. “We’ve seen sites become more invested in their own training,” she noted. “When a site has a point of contact who understands Litmos and how to use it, that enthusiasm trickles down. It’s contagious.”
Litmos has also improved accessibility for PCSI’s diverse workforce. “We work with employees with varying disabilities,” Van Vliet said. “Litmos’ built-in features, like review questions, embedded videos, and one-on-one instruction options, have made training more inclusive and adaptable.”
Perhaps most importantly, the shift has enhanced compliance and performance. “Our audit scores have gone up significantly. We can now do semi-annual audits remotely, which saves time and ensures every site stays on track,” shared Van Vliet. “We are audited annually by a third-party ISO auditor. Since introducing Litmos as a part of our training records, we have only received accolades and comments about using Litmos as a best practice for maintaining training records,” continues Van Vilet.
While PCSI hasn’t measured ROI purely in financial terms, the returns on efficiency, consistency, and confidence are undeniable. “It’s not about dollars saved,” Van Vliet emphasized. “It’s about knowing our people are trained, our documentation is sound, and our mission is supported.”
Litmos allowed us to customize our training exactly how we wanted. It gave us the consistency we needed while staying user-friendly for everyone, from executives to site-level housekeepers.
Growing Together: A Look at What’s Next for PCSI
As PCSI continues to grow, the organization is looking forward to taking its training strategy to the next level. “We have hired a new Training Manager,” said Van Vliet, “and that’s going to open up so many opportunities to create more content and support each site’s specific needs.”
While PCSI is still exploring new integrations and content creation tools, the organization is confident that Litmos will remain central to its approach. “I love that Litmos keeps evolving; we’re keeping an eye on what’s next. It feels like we’re growing together,” shared Van Vliet.
For PCSI, Litmos isn’t just a tool. It’s a partner in their mission to empower people through meaningful work. “Litmos has given us the foundation to make training fair, consistent, and accessible for everyone,” Van Vliet reflected. “It’s helping us live our mission every single day.”
