We built a course all around Boosts, check it out in Litmos Dojo: How To: Create and Manage Litmos Boosts |
What is Boost and Why Should I Use It?
Send assessment questions (Boosts) to the learners outside of a course at specified intervals after they have completed the course in order to aide in the learner’s memory retention and reinforce learned material.
Create Boost Questions for a Course
Boost is enabled by Account Owners at: Account Settings,>Litmos Features,>Litmos Boost. Note: Tile view (located at: Accounts, >Profile) must be enabled to use Boost.
-
Navigate to the Course
-
Click the “Boost” subtab.
-
Create a question by selecting “Create a Boost” on the right
-
(Instead of creating new boost questions, you could click Options then select ‘Copy Assessments’ to add all multiple-choice questions from all assessments within that course
-
Navigate to the course’s Settings tab and then to the Boost settings to set Frequency, Question Limit (how many boosts will be released at a time), and Expiration date (how long the Boost will be accessible by the learner)
Testing Boost Questions
At the Boost tab, under Options, send a sample/preview boost to your own learner view for review
How Will Boost Work with Learning Paths?
Boost is available at the Course level only. Boosts can be used in learning path courses and will be sent based on course completion, not learning path completion.
What is the Learner Experience Like?
When a Boost becomes available to a learner, they will receive an email notification with a login link. When a learner logs into their Litmos account, they will see the Boosts that are waiting for them and can click Start Boost. By default, learners will see the answer feedback (correct/incorrect).
When the learner answers incorrectly: Learner will be shown the feedback of ‘Incorrect’ along with the correct answer, after which the question will be added back to the poll of questions to be sent again in future Boost(s). The Boost will disappear from learner view once answered.
When the learner answers correctly: Learner will be shown the feedback of ‘Correct’ and proceed to the next question. Correctly answered questions will not be asked again.
Note: Litmos Boost is not yet available on mobile devices.
There are Two Ways to Review the Boost Questions After Answered by Learners:
1.) User Profile – Click on the Boosts subtab within a user’s profile to see the status of their Boosts (screenshot)
2.) Quick Report– Click on the “Boosts” Quick report in the reporting tab to see a list of all courses that contain Boosts. Click into the course and choose one of the three tabs at the top to view:
-
User View to see all people who have answered Boost questions for that course.
-
Question View to see all the questions in the Boost and how many people have answered the Boosts correctly.
-
User/ Question View to see what each user answered in a set of Boost Questions.
