How Do I Configure Questions in Litmos Training Operations?

Questions

Use the Questions screen under the Administration menu is to define the set of possible questions used with attendees. Questions are used in the following ways:

1. Registration – For use during the registration process.
2. Evaluation – For use as an online evaluation after the course/event.
3. Profile – For use gathering additional profile information.
4. Pre-Join Online Meeting – For use when attendees join an online course/event session

Question Types

The Question Type determines how the answer are displayed and collected.

The following question types are used in the Litmos Training Operations application:

1. Pull Down – For single predefined answers.
2. Radio Button – For single predefined answers.
3. Checkbox – For multiple predefined answers.
4. Single and Multi-Line Text – For opened free text answers.
5. Likert Scale – For selectable scaled answers like Agree, disagree, N/A, etc.
6. Email – For formatted email answers.
7. URL – For answers needing an URL.
8. Password – For answers formatted like passwords
9. Numeric – For number answers
10. Date Type – For date answers.
11. Telephone – For telephone number answers

NOTE: Use the question screen to create all the questions used in the system. Questions are then assigned based on how they will be used.

To define questions:

1. Select Administration Menu -> Definitions -> Questions.
2. Enter the text for the new question in the Question field.
3. Choose Question Type. If the question type requires a fixed set of answers (a pull-down or radio button question), an Answer area appears on the screen.

To create answers:

1. Enter an answer in the space provided.
2. Click + to add the answer to the list. (Click – to delete an answer.)
3. Continue adding answers as needed. Use the up and down arrows to change answer order.
4. To identify an answer as correct, highlight the answer and use the down-facing arrow to move it to the Correct Answer area. Repeat as needed for each correct answer.
5. Select whether to place the answer below the question or to its right. This does not affect the Likert scale question type.
6. Select a question category, if applicable. To create categories, use the Pull-down Values screen.
7. Select whether the question will be available for registration, evaluation, profile or all three.
8. Click Save.

To add another question:

1. Select New
2. Repeat steps 2-6 above.

To change an existing question:

1. Click the zoom arrow to the left of the question.
2. Make the needed changes.
3. Click Save.

To delete an existing question:

1. Click the zoom arrow to the left of the question.
2. Click the Delete button.
3. Click Ok in the pop-up window
