Box is an enterprise content management platform that solves simple and complex challenges, from sharing and accessing files on mobile devices to sophisticated business processes like data governance and retention.

Enterprise content management (ECM) is the process and method of storing, archiving, and retrieving documents within an enterprise-level company or a similarly large organization. With an ECM platform, documents and other files are digitized, centralized, and secured. This minimizes productivity loss related to time spent searching for files, functions as a document backup system, and ensures paper trail is always available.

The Box integration for Litmos can be used by Administrators to link content from Box into a course as a new course module.  This function allows files and folders that are stored and viewed on Box, to automatically update the module content that is linked into Litmos from Box.

Enabling the Box Integration

The Box integration can be enabled by performing the steps below:

1. Log into Litmos as an Account Owner.

2. Navigate to Accounts > Integrations.

3. Select the Box Icon.

   

4. Check the box “Enable Box file picker” and click “Save Changes”.

Adding Box Content into Courses as New Modules

To add files from Box into a Litmos Course, perform the steps below:

1. Navigate to a course as an Administrator.

2. Click on the “Content” tab within the course.

3. Click the “Add content” button

   

4. From the menu, select Box.

   

5. Next, Log into Box. If you’re already logged in, you will see an option to choose content from Box.

6. Select the content from Box and click the “Choose” button

   

7. Add the finishing touches to the Link Module that is being created for the Box content

   

8. Click “save” to create the new module.

Important Note:  Box files and entire file folders can also be added to a course module via the Page of Information module. Create a new Page of Information Module, save that module, click the edit icon and proceed to link Box content into that Page of Information module:

Edit the files and folders linked in Litmos directly from your Box.com account.  The edits to the folders or files will automatically update in Litmos
