Bystander Awareness (US)
Incidents of sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct in the workplace don’t always involve just the perpetrator and victim. Sometimes, there are bystanders who see or hear these events or learn about them later. Active bystanders can play a positive role in tackling workplace sexual harassment.
This course examines what bystanders are and why they’re important. It provides strategies to enable bystanders to safely intervene in incidents of sexual harassment or inappropriate conduct, using the Four Ds of Bystander Intervention. It looks at how employees can officially report sexual harassment they witness, and how organizations can foster a work environment that supports bystanders.
