Medical Necessity Concepts and the ABN

This course teaches the relationship between Medical Necessity and the conditions under which the Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN) needs to be communicated to patients with traditional Medicare coverage for noncovered services. Learning about medical necessity and knowing when to provide the ABN will ensure that FFS Medicare patients receive complete information about their treatment options and financial responsibilities.
