Validating an Acute Inpatient Bill
This course identifies the components of an inpatient acute claim, combining two inpatients and bill validation techniques. Note that in the examples given throughout this course, all dates utilize the placeholder “xx” as the year. It is recommended that staff also take courses BFR81001 through BFR81006.
- Analyze and select correct condition codes, occurrence codes, discharge status codes and value codes.
- Define an inpatient combined claim and list its characteristics, as well as demonstrate how to correctly select the revenue code.
- Determine which form locators must be completed versus those that are optional.
