An API key is a unique identifier that authenticates requests to your Litmos Training tenant. Each tenant has at least one API key associated with it, as each Account Owner on each tenant will be granted a key. The application programing interface (API) will allow your custom programs to automate actions in the learning management system, rather than a human user.
Each Account Owner in the tenant is afforded an API key, and the API key is limited to 100 requests per minute (also known as the rating limit).
An Account Owner can access his/her API key by:
Clicking “My Profile & Settings”
Navigate to the API Key section
Copy the API Key & *Keep it protected*
Once the API key has been located, it can be used to authorize calls to the Litmos Training LMS to automate actions often performed by systems integrations. The apikey will be passed as a request header in all calls to the application programming interface.
