Privacy and Dignity
All individuals should be treated with dignity and privacy – these are two crucial attributes health and social care workers must have when working with people in a caring, supportive environment. This course defines and explains the links between dignity and privacy. It focuses on respecting the views, choices and decision of the individuals in care, not making assumptions on how they want to be treated, working with care and compassion, and communicating directly with them whenever possible.
Covered in this course:
- The principles underpinning privacy and dignity in care
- Individual involvement in their own decision making
- Active participation
- Individual self-care
