An Exciting New Future for Litmos
SAP announced today that it has reached an agreement to sell the Litmos business to Francisco Partners and complete the transition of Litmos to an independent company in December 2022.
Since its launch over 20 years ago, Francisco Partners has invested in over 400 technology companies, making it one of the most active and longstanding investors in the technology industry. Francisco Partners has extensive experience in the education and human capital technology space and its investments have focused on companies that provide the best possible products for its customers, partners, and managers.
We know this is very big news, and we have lots of resources in place to support you through the transition. We are confident that this is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Litmos and our journey together.
Why is Litmos being sold?
Customer success has always been the top priority for Litmos and for SAP. To achieve this, SAP regularly reviews its solutions portfolio to ensure resources and investments are optimized to ensure continued growth and innovation and the continued success of our customers.
We’re very proud of the market-leading learning management system (LMS) and eLearning content library that we’ve built over these many years of success. However, much of the Litmos value proposition and platform functionalities overlap with some of SAP’s existing solutions.
Francisco Partners offers the best combination of capital investment for growth, strategic and operational advisors, alignment with our strategic direction, and was the best cultural fit for our employees, customers, and partners. This transition will provide the investment, focus, and growth to deliver even more value for our customers.
From a product perspective, we will drive more investment into product innovations, including in our industry-leading Content Authoring tool and other key features that will add intelligence and deeper analytics to our platform. We will continue to focus on delivering superior internal employee training as well as training for your extended enterprise (customers, partners, franchises, etc.) and want to invest in growing our library of off-the-shelf learning content. And of course, we will continue to maintain the ease-of-use, fast and flexible customization, and rapid time-to-value that has made Litmos a leader.
